Chlor*Rid Hold*Blast surface passivator for coating applications

$335.75

As a surface passivator, HOLD*BLAST chemically changes the active surface of metal to a much less reactive state. Surface corrosion can occur when water wet surfaces react with atmospheric oxygen. This often results in the formation of flash rust, which can be eliminated with the use of HOLD*BLAST. This product passivates the surface to stop the formation of surface rust for long periods of time, often several days.

HOLD*BLAST is a concentrated organic chemistry which is added to water. This biodegradable product does not leave a film or residue to interfere with coating adhesion

Features & Benefits:

  • Compatible with all coatings
  • Cost Effective
  • Dilute with potable water
  • Vapor/Mist blasting
  • Apply through UHP pressure equipment
  • No VOC’s
  • Non-hazardous
  • Bio-degradable
Chlor*Rid Hold*Blast is a cost effective, environmentally safe, coating friendly additive to prevent flash rusting. It does not leave a film or residue to interfere with a coating adhesion.

Use in a solution with water after:

  • Dry abrasive blasting
  • Power tool cleaning
  • UHP water jetting

Or during:

  • Slurry blasting
  • Water washing
  • Wet Abrasive blasting
  • Vapor/ mist blasting
  • UHP Water Jetting

In use with wet abrasive blasting equipment, it is recommended to start with a mix of one liter of HOLD*BLAST per 50 liters of potable water in the holding tank. Lower concentrations may be suitable depending upon circumstances and type of equipment used. No rinsing is required, but if the surface is to be rinsed, such as to remove particulate matter, the same 1:50 solution is recommended (poorer quality water can be used but may require a higher concentration of HOLD*BLAST).Do not mix with other chemicals. After the substrate has been thoroughly blasted, it should be allowed to dry prior to coating application. Remove any excess or ponded water using compressed air or other means. Typical time for “holding the blast” is approximately 72 hours.

Chlor*Rid HOLD*BLAST is just one of Chlor*Rid’s products that helps with coating adhesion and pre application cleaning. Check out the other products here.
