Wayne works for Resimac Ltd. UK a manufacturer of high performance coatings and has been in the coating industry for 20+ years, working in sales and other technical roles throughout the years. They have coatings that range for corrosion protection to chemical protection, building maintenance, metal repair.

Water proofing and roof products. There are several different products, but are going to focus on 2 products for waterproofing. Today he will be talking about “Resichem 550 WR (Water based membrane)” and “Resichem 551 ER (emergency repair)”

Resichem 550WR

  • Water based
  • 2 coats
  • Requires reinforcement sheet
  • Non-moisture tolerant
  • Long term system (up to 20 years)
  • Brush, roll, spray

 

Typical Applications:

  • Flat Roofs
  • Pitched Roofs
  • Tank Base (Chime) sealing

Resichem 551ER

  • Solvent base
  • Single Coat
  • Self-reinforced
  • Moisture tolerant (can be applied to standing water)
  • Emergency Repair (up to 5 year)
  • Brush, squeegee
  • Difficult to apply over larger areas. Perfect for small areas

Typical Applications:

  • Emergency leak sealing
  • Gutters
  • Roof Joints

Benefits vs tradition roofing systems.

  • Seamless – fewer potential leak and failure points
  • UV stable – Will not blister or embrittle
  • Highly Flexible – Higher degree of flexibility than any substrate
  • Can be applied onto existing roof coating – can recondition existing roof structures (full range of primers)
  • Can be applied during adverse weather (551 ER) – when the roof is holding water and leaking
  • Water-based (550WR) – reduced H&S requirement
  • No requirement for hot works – no heat guns or seam welding
  • Easily overrated and repaired (seamless) – can be simply overheated at the end of its lifespan, repairs are invisible
