Wastewater Treatment Plant Sewage Axial Flow Pump

Wastewater Treatment Plant Sewage Axial Flow Pump

The Problem

The sewage axial flow pump at this wastewater treatment plant was damaged and no longer functioning at peak efficiency.

The company was looking for a cost-effective solution to repair the equipment and prolong its useful service life instead of taking the more expensive option to replacing the equipment.

The Substrate

Metal

The Solution

All loose material, rust, and surface contaminants (including existing coatings) were removed by abrasive blasting.  RESIMETAL 201 Ceramic Repair Paste was then used to fill in damaged areas to achieve the original profile on the pumps.  RESIMETAL 202 Ceramic Repair Fluid was then applied to protect the repaired pumps from further damage.

RESIMETAL 202 Ceramic Repair Fluid is a high-performance, solvent-free coating designed for aggressive environments. RESIMETAL 202 Ceramic Repair Fluid has excellent adhesion to steel and concrete and provides outstanding abrasion and corrosion resistance.

RESIMETAL 202 Ceramic Repair Fluid is applied using a two-coat system. Each coat is a different color which allows the client to monitor when the bottom color begins to show through.
