The Problem

The outside of this tank had damage starting at its seams. Rust and erosion had started, and the tank needed a repair instead of a full replacement The Unconventional Solutions team had just the right solution for this issue.

The Solution

The USI team helped supervise this repair.

First the area needed be surface prepped by removing all oil and grease with USI Universal Cleaner.

Then the area was roughened and RESIMETAL 104 XF Metal Repair Fluid was used to stop oil seepage.

The area was cleaned once more with USI Universal Cleaner to get rid of any remaining debris.

Then the RESIMETAL 101 Metal Repair Paste was mixed according to the technical data sheet, applied, and pressed firmly over top of RESIMETAL 104 XF Metal Repair Fluid. This method provides additional strength as well as reduces or eliminates all possible air pockets to ensure excellent product adhesion and a long-lasting repair.
