Denso Protal 3200CF | Wet-Layup Composite Repair
A bi-axial carbon fiber and epoxy wet-layup composite system that restores the structural integrity of corroded and damaged steel pipe, elbows, tees, reducers and welds. Every repair is engineered to ASME PCC-2 Article 4.1.

Product Overview
Protal 3200CF is a bi-axial carbon fiber and epoxy wet-layup composite that restores or enhances the structural integrity of steel pipelines and fittings. The dry carbon fiber fabric is saturated on site with Protal 3220 epoxy, so the laminate can be built up on straight pipe and complex geometries alike.
Every repair is installed to a Denso Engineered Composite Repair (ECR) design developed per ASME PCC-2 Article 4.1, which sets the laminate thickness, layer count, wrap orientation and repair length. Surface preparation and installation are performed by Denso-trained and certified personnel.

How It Works
Each component does a specific job. Together they move load from the damaged steel into the carbon fiber laminate.
01
Structural Filler
A high-modulus, two-part epoxy that fills pits and dents, restores the pipe's surface geometry and creates a continuous load-transfer interface.
02
Corrosion Barrier
A VOC-free, 100% solids, high-build epoxy applied at 25–30 mils wet film thickness to protect the steel and bond the laminate.
03
Carbon Fiber Laminate
Dry bi-axial carbon fiber fabric saturated in the field with Protal 3220 epoxy, then wrapped under tension to the layer count, overlap and orientation in the ECR design.
Finishing: Archco 15 or 65 topcoat for UV-exposed, above-ground repairs, and Denso ViscoWrap or Densyl Tape as an optional outerwrap for added protection.
Why Crews Choose It
The strength of carbon fiber with the flexibility of a field-saturated laminate, engineered to the code your engineers work to.
01
Every repair follows a Denso Engineered Composite Repair design developed per ASME PCC-2 Article 4.1.
02
The wet-layup fabric conforms to elbows, tees, reducers and welds as well as straight pipe.
03
114,500 psi tensile strength and a 9.32 Msi elastic modulus, tested to ASTM D3039.
04
Protal 3210 rebuilds pitted and dented steel so load moves cleanly from the pipe into the composite.
05
A VOC-free system, including a 100% solids, high-build corrosion-barrier epoxy.
06
Denso ILI markers can be placed between wrap layers so the repair can be located during in-line inspection.
Applications
On straight pipe, elbows, tees, reducers, welds and other non-standard geometries.
Reinforces steel weakened by external corrosion and pitting.
Fills and reinforces mechanical damage, with Protal 3210 restoring the pipe's surface geometry.
The field-saturated fabric conforms to fittings and other non-standard geometries.
Restores or enhances structural integrity along straight runs and across weld areas.
