Denso Protal 2800CF | Composite Pipeline Repair
A water-activated, pre-impregnated carbon fiber composite system that restores the structural integrity of corroded and damaged steel pipe, elbows, tees and reducers. Qualified to ASME PCC-2 and ISO/TS 24817.

Product Overview
Protal 2800CF is a bi-axial carbon fiber, moisture-cured urethane composite that restores or enhances the structural integrity of steel pipelines and fittings. The wrap arrives factory pre-impregnated and sealed in a nitrogen-filled foil pouch. Dip it in water and it's ready to install, even on damp or sweating surfaces.
Every repair is installed to a Denso Engineered Composite Repair (ECR) design by Denso-trained and certified personnel, so the layer count, overlap and orientation are matched to the defect and the line's operating conditions.

How It Works
Each component does a specific job. Together they move load from the damaged steel into the carbon fiber reinforcement.
01
Structural Filler
A high-modulus, two-part epoxy that fills pits and dents, restores the pipe's surface geometry and creates a continuous load-transfer interface.
02
Corrosion Barrier
A moisture-tolerant, 100% solids, two-part epoxy applied at 30 mils wet film thickness to protect the steel beneath the composite.
03
Carbon Fiber Reinforcement
Bi-axial carbon fiber pre-impregnated with moisture-cured polyurethane. Activated with water and applied under tension to the layer count in the ECR design.
Optional finishing: Archco 15 or 65 topcoat for UV-exposed, above-ground repairs, and Denso ViscoWrap or Densyl Tape outerwrap for added mechanical or environmental protection.
Why Crews Choose It
Structural reinforcement that installs fast, tolerates field conditions and meets the codes your engineers work to.
01
Qualified to ASME PCC-2 Article 4.1 and ISO/TS 24817, and installed to a Denso Engineered Composite Repair design.
02
The water-activated wrap and moisture-tolerant epoxy work on dry, damp or sweating pipe.
03
66,180 psi tensile strength and a 6.93 Msi elastic modulus, tested to ASTM D3039.
04
Factory pre-impregnated and sealed in nitrogen. Activate it with water and wrap, with no resin to mix for the reinforcement layer.
05
A VOC-free system, including a 100% solids corrosion-protection epoxy.
06
Denso ILI markers can be placed between wrap layers so the repair can be located during in-line inspection.
Applications
On straight pipe, elbows, tees, reducers and similar geometries, over dry, damp or sweating surfaces.
Reinforces steel weakened by external corrosion and pitting.
Fills and reinforces mechanical damage, with Protal 3210 restoring the pipe's surface geometry.
Adds structural reinforcement over weld defects and manufacturing flaws.
Restores or enhances the structural integrity of thinned walls that need reinforcement.
Technical Data
Values from the Protal 2800CF technical data sheet. The system is qualified to ASME PCC-2 Article 4.1 and ISO/TS 24817.
